Navigation: {{{1}}}

Usage

Renders the navigation breadcrumb for a dialog or view as a distinct block, so it stands out from the prose and is easy to find when skimming.

{{Navigation|Security ''(main tab)'' → Management Roles ''(section)'' → Role ''(toolbar group)'' → Create ''(button)''}}

Renders as:

Navigation: Security (main tab) → Management Roles (section) → Role (toolbar group) → Create (button)

Conventions

  • Separate steps with →, which renders a proper arrow while keeping the page source ASCII.
  • Annotate each step with its kind, in italic parentheses, so a reader who does not know the layout can find it: (main tab), (section) for a left-hand tree section, (toolbar group) for a ribbon group, (button), (tab) for a tab inside a dialog, (context menu) for a right-click item.
  • Use italics for anything the reader does rather than reads off the screen -- select a Storage System, right-click a Storage System.
  • Order the path the way the reader moves: main tab, then tree section, then toolbar group, then the control.
  • Say when a control is reachable only by right-click. Several QuantaStor dialogs are not on any toolbar.

The colour deliberately survives dark mode: the DarkMode extension applies filter: invert(1) hue-rotate(180deg), which flips lightness while preserving hue, so the dark green renders as a light green on a dark ground.
