In QuantaStor, the "Add/Remove Users for User Group" feature serves the purpose of managing the membership of a user group by adding or removing individual users.

Here's an overview of the purpose and implications of adding or removing users for a user group in QuantaStor:

  • Adding users to a user group: By adding users to a user group, you associate those users with the group's permissions and settings. This allows the users to inherit the access rights and privileges assigned to the group. Adding users to a user group is particularly useful when multiple users require similar levels of access or permissions within the QuantaStor system.
  • Removing users from a user group: When you remove users from a user group, their association with the group's permissions and settings is terminated. This means that they will no longer inherit the access rights and privileges of the group. Removing users from a user group may be necessary when their access requirements change or when they no longer need the permissions associated with the group.

Managing the membership of user groups through the "Add/Remove Users for User Group" feature allows administrators to control and fine-tune the access privileges of individual users within the QuantaStor environment. By adding or removing users from user groups, administrators can ensure that users have the appropriate permissions based on their roles and responsibilities.
