Edit the password.

In QuantaStor, the "Set Password" feature serves the purpose of establishing or changing the password for accessing and managing the QuantaStor software. It allows administrators to set a password that is required to log in to the QuantaStor management interface.

By setting a password, you ensure that only authorized individuals with knowledge of the password can access and make changes to the QuantaStor system. This helps protect the security and integrity of the storage environment.

Typically, the "Set Password" functionality is available during the initial setup or configuration of QuantaStor, as well as in the user account management section of the QuantaStor management interface. The process usually involves entering the desired password, confirming it for accuracy, and saving the changes.

It's important to choose a strong password that combines a mix of alphanumeric characters, special characters, and is not easily guessable. Additionally, it is advisable to follow any password complexity guidelines or requirements specified by your organization's security policies.

Remember to keep your password confidential and avoid sharing it with unauthorized individuals to maintain the security of your QuantaStor system.

Note, when logged in as an Administrator you will not be required to offer an old password which may be unknown. When logged in under all other accounts you must enter both the old password and the new password as a security precaution. For grid and non-grid configurations the local SMB and user account on each system is automatically updated as part of the password change process. Password lengths must be between 8 and 34 characters.
