Scale-out S3 Pool Setup (Ceph RGW)
Scale-out object and block storage configurations enable S3/SWIFT object storage access as well as iSCSI storage access to scale-out storage volumes. Scale-out storage uses replicas and/or erasure-coding technologies to ensure fault-tolerance and high-availability. Ceph technology is used within the platform so a Ceph cluster must first be created to enable this functionality.
Create a Cluster
Specify the new Ceph Cluster name along with the network interface configuration.
Create an Object Storage Device (OSD)
Devices must be assigned to the cluster before storage pools may be provisioned. Systems with HDDs must also have some SSD in each system for use as WAL device(s).
Create an OSD
A Zone (aka Object Pool Group) must be created before S3 storage buckets may be provisioned.
Add S3/SWIFT Gateway
Select the Ceph Cluster to add a new S3/SWIFT Gateway to and specify the network interface configuration.
Add S3/SWIFT Object User Access
Select the Ceph Cluster to add a new S3/SWIFT Gateway to and specify the network interface configuration.
Creat Ceph Bucket
Create one or more User Access Entries (each contains an 'access key' and 'secret key') for accessing S3 Buckets.
