External Systems Configuration
QuantaStor can use disk enclosures and storage arrays from other vendors as the media behind its Storage Pools. This page collects the per-vendor setup guides: each external system attaches differently -- transport, cabling, multipath and shared-mode settings all vary -- so each has its own section below and its own detailed configuration guide.
Once an external system is attached and its devices are visible to QuantaStor, they are managed exactly like any other disk: see Physical Disks/Devices to confirm discovery and Storage Pools to build a pool from them.

Western Digital (WD) Data24
The WD Data24 is an NVMe-oF JBOF (just-a-bunch-of-flash enclosure) that presents its NVMe media to QuantaStor over an RDMA network transport rather than over SAS. QuantaStor connects to it using RoCE, so the setup involves network configuration that a SAS enclosure does not: OFED driver installation, lossless networking on the switch and the host ports, and an NVMe-oF software adapter on each QuantaStor system.
Use the Data24 42xx models with two QuantaStor systems for a highly available scale-up configuration, or a 41xx model with a single system where high availability is not required. Shared mode and device reservations must be enabled on the enclosure before two systems can safely share its media.
Full procedure: Western Digital (WD) Data24 Configuration -- covers prerequisites, cabling, driver and network configuration, enclosure setup, adapter creation, and the port-naming and design considerations that apply to an HA pair.
Seagate Corvault
The Seagate Corvault is a SAS-attached array that performs its own RAID and presents large logical volumes -- commonly 60TB, 80TB or 100TB each -- to QuantaStor. Those volumes are then used like any other SAS-attached device, which makes the integration simpler than an NVMe-oF enclosure: there is no separate network transport to configure.
Because the Corvault does the RAID itself, the disk group and logical volume layout is created on the Corvault first, then assigned to the QuantaStor systems and discovered. Both single-path and multipath SAS connectivity are supported; use multipath for a highly available configuration.
Full procedure: Seagate Corvault Configuration -- covers supported connectivity, the architecture, disk group and logical volume creation on the array, and volume assignment and discovery from QuantaStor.
