New Deployments

OSNexus recommends running the latest firmware for your hardware on all new deployments. In some rare cases we require specific firmware on NVMe media for HA configurations but in general always use the latest firmware available from the hardware manufacturer in order to ensure the highest level of security for your new deployment. If you have any questions or concerns please contact OSNexus Support for assistance and guidance.

Existing Deployments

We generally recommend only applying new firmware to address specific issues and/or security issues with your existing hardware. If you are having stability issues with your hardware we recommend upgrading all the firmware to bring everything up to date. Please do this incrementally so that if there is an issue with a specific firmware that it does not impact all your media and servers at the same time.

Assistance with Firmware Upgrades

OSNexus Support can and will lend their expertise to assist with hardware firmware upgrades on all systems with active Enterprise Edition subscriptions. We recommend getting assistance from your hardware reseller or the hardware manufacturer to assist whenever possible as they have the most expertise with their specific hardware models and firmware revisions.
