Send Support Log Files


The "Send Support Log Files" feature in QuantaStor serves the purpose of facilitating the process of sending diagnostic log files to the support team or vendor for troubleshooting and assistance. It provides a convenient and streamlined method for sharing relevant log files that can aid in investigating and resolving issues within the QuantaStor storage platform.

Option: Disable Log Scrubbing
By default all logs are scrubbed of all personally identifiable information for GDPR compliance. In rare instances support staff may request un-scrubbed logs to have additional relevant information to work from in the triage process.
Option: Disable Log Uploading
By default logs are encrypted and uploaded after they're collected. With this option one can prevent the logs from being uploaded and a link will be provided in the task description status from which the logs may be downloaded after collection. Alternatively one can login to the system and gather the log file bundle from /var/tmp/. In that directory you'll find the log files compressed into .zip format.
Option: Disable Log Truncation
By default log files that are over 100MB in size are truncated to 100MB by removing the middle section in order to keep the log bundle manageable in size. In some rare cases the support team may request that truncation be disabled.
