The 'Update Certificates' feature provides a mechanism to replace or refresh existing SSL/TLS certificate templates across the QuantaStor Storage Grid. This is a critical administrative task for maintaining secure access to Object Storage (S3) Gateway and HA-Proxy before current certificates expire.

Updating a certificate via a template ensures that the new security credentials are automatically pushed to all associated nodes and services in the grid, minimizing manual configuration and downtime.

You can only update or apply a SSL certificate if you have already configured an HTTPS Object Gateway or an HTTPS Load Balancer.

Type of Use Cases:

  • Object Gateway 1 - Refers to Object Gateway Port 7480 (Instance 1).
  • Object Gateway 2 - Refers to Object Gateway Port 7481 (Instance 2).
  • HA-Proxy - Refers to built in HTTPS (load-balancer).

To update a certificate, follow these steps:

1.Navigate to Security > Certificates > Update (toolbar)

2.Select the Certificate Template you wish to apply.

3.Select the appropriate Use Case for the service to which you are applying the certificate.

4.Select the server/node that requires the SSL certificate update.

5.Click OK and wait for the task to complete.

Browser Test: Open a new browser window (or clear your cache) and navigate to your Object Gateway URL (Ex: https://node1.domain.com:8580). Click the "lock" icon in the address bar to verify the new certificate details.
