Modify the configuration settings of the virtual interface within the site cluster.
Set the Site location configuration.

In QuantaStor, the "Modify Site Cluster Virtual Interface" feature is used to modify the configuration of the virtual interface associated with a site cluster. A site cluster consists of multiple QuantaStor clusters distributed across different physical locations or sites, and the virtual interface is used for communication and coordination between these clusters.

The purpose of the "Modify Site Cluster Virtual Interface" function is to make changes to the configuration settings of the virtual interface within the site cluster. This can include modifying network settings, IP addresses, subnet masks, gateway settings, VLAN configurations, or other parameters related to the virtual interface.

When the site cluster virtual interface is modified, the following actions may occur:

  • Updating network settings: The changes made to the virtual interface configuration are applied, and the network settings associated with the virtual interface are updated accordingly. This can include modifying IP addresses, subnet masks, or gateway settings to ensure proper network connectivity and communication between the site cluster nodes.
  • Reconfiguring communication: After modifying the virtual interface, the site cluster nodes may need to reconfigure their communication and coordination mechanisms to reflect the new network settings. This ensures that the nodes can properly communicate and synchronize data across the site cluster.

The purpose of modifying the site cluster virtual interface in QuantaStor may include:

  • Network configuration changes: If there are changes in the network infrastructure, such as IP address reassignment or network reconfiguration, modifying the virtual interface allows you to update the network settings for the site cluster accordingly.
  • Integration with existing network infrastructure: Modifying the site cluster virtual interface enables you to align the site cluster's network settings with the existing network infrastructure in your environment. This ensures proper connectivity and communication with other network devices or services.
  • Network segmentation or VLAN configuration: If you need to implement network segmentation or VLANs within the site cluster, modifying the virtual interface allows you to configure the necessary VLAN settings or update the network segmentation parameters.

It's important to note that modifying the site cluster virtual interface should be performed with caution, as incorrect configuration changes may result in connectivity issues or communication problems within the site cluster. It is advisable to consult the QuantaStor documentation or seek guidance from the official QuantaStor support for detailed instructions and best practices on modifying the site cluster virtual interface in your specific environment.
