Modify an existing Replication Schedule.

In QuantaStor, the "Modify Replication Schedule" feature allows you to adjust the replication schedule for a replication relationship between two storage volumes. QuantaStor is a software-defined storage platform that supports data replication for the purpose of data protection and disaster recovery.

When you set up replication between volumes in QuantaStor, you define a replication schedule that determines how often the data is synchronized from the source volume to the destination volume. This schedule specifies the frequency of replication and the intervals at which the replication process occurs.

Schedules can be configured to trigger at specific dates/times during the week or can be setup to continuously replicate with a variable delay interval between replication cycles. Retention rules can also be modified.

The "Modify Replication Schedule" functionality enables you to change or fine-tune the existing replication schedule. By accessing this feature, you can adjust the replication frequency, the start time of each replication cycle, and other relevant parameters.

This feature is particularly useful when you need to adapt the replication schedule to meet changing requirements or optimize resource utilization. For example, you might want to increase the replication frequency during periods of high activity or decrease it during low-traffic times to reduce the impact on network bandwidth or system resources.

By modifying the replication schedule, you can ensure that the replication process aligns with your specific needs and helps maintain data consistency and availability across the replicated volumes.

General

Schedules can be configured to trigger at specific dates/times during the week or can be setup to continuously replicate with a variable delay interval between replication cycles.

Schedule Interval

This menu allows you to modify the times of when replications will occur.

Snapshot Rules

The snapshot rules allow you to modify the long-term retention of snapshots. In the case that an issue arises, you can revert later to one of these snapshots since they're kept long-term.

Automatic Activation

Checkpoints for the Replication Schedule may be activated automatically when the selected Cluster VIF is moved to the DR site. All checkpoints are activated and Network Share checkpoints will have local Network Share aliases auto-created if not already present.

Advanced Settings

The 'Enable source snapshot reuse' option will not create new snapshots on the source. You can change the mode of operation from full replica to incremental replication by choosing the 'Enable target checkpoint recovery'. Optionally check 'Recursively replicate nested shares' to include nested shares for this schedule.
