Remove a S3 User Access Key from the selected User.

In QuantaStor, the "S3 User Access Key Add" feature is related to configuring access to the Simple Storage Service (S3), which is a cloud storage service provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS). It allows you to create and manage S3-compatible object storage within your QuantaStor storage infrastructure.

The purpose of "S3 User Access Key Add" in QuantaStor typically involves the following:

  • Configuring S3-Compatible Object Storage: QuantaStor can be configured to provide S3-compatible object storage. This allows you to use QuantaStor as your own on-premises or private cloud-based object storage solution, similar to AWS S3. To interact with this object storage, you need to configure access keys.
  • User Authentication: Access to your QuantaStor object storage is controlled through user authentication. When you add an S3 user access key, you are essentially creating an access credential for a user or application to interact with the QuantaStor object storage. This typically involves generating an Access Key ID and Secret Access Key, which are used for authentication.
  • Access Control: You can specify the permissions and access rights associated with the user access key. This includes defining what actions the user or application can perform within the object storage, such as creating, reading, updating, or deleting objects, as well as setting access restrictions and policies.
  • Integration with S3-Compatible Applications: Once you have configured S3 user access keys in QuantaStor, you can use these keys to integrate with S3-compatible applications, tools, and libraries. This allows you to seamlessly store and retrieve objects from QuantaStor's S3-compatible object storage, just like you would with a public cloud-based S3 service.
  • Security: Access keys should be managed securely to prevent unauthorized access. QuantaStor likely provides mechanisms to rotate access keys periodically, revoke access, and manage access key security policies.
  • Monitoring and Auditing: QuantaStor may offer monitoring and auditing capabilities to track the usage of access keys. This can be important for compliance and security purposes.
